Add diary to device
The Ark diary is a public Google calendar and can be added to your own smart phone, tablet or computer. The Ark diary will then be visible alongside your own diary events but displayed in a different colour. Although Ark events will be shown, you will not be able to edit them.
For those of you that know what you are doing, then the calendar address is:

If you are not sure how to add the diary to your device, then see below for some typical devices. These are for guidance only and the actual method may vary depending on software versions. Other devices may be added, depending on demand. If you get stuck, then please use the contact form and we’ll try to get you sorted.
iPhone/iPad:
Go to Settings>Calendar>Accounts>Add Account>Other>Subscribed Calendar and then type (or copy/paste) the address shown in red above into the server text box. Click “Next”, ignore all other settings and click “Save”. Return to the home screen, open the calendar app, click on “Calendars” at the bottom and scroll down until you find The Ark Community Church, then click the “i” next to it. You can then select the colour of your choice (event alerts are not relevant, as the events do not generally have notifications). Click “Done” twice to return to the calendar..
If you want to show or hide The Ark diary, then click “Calendars” at the bottom, scroll down until you find The Ark Community Church and then simply click to add or remove the tick. Click “Done” when finished.
If you decide that you want to remove the diary altogether, go to Settings>Calendar>Accounts>Subscribed Calendars, select “The Ark Community Church, and then click on “Delete Account”.
Android Phone/Tablet:
The Ark’s diary is a Google calendar and Android is Google, so one might think that this would be the easiest device to set up – it’s not! The process involves adding the Ark Diary to your own Google Calendar and then getting your phone/tablet to display the additional information.
This is easiest done on a PC or laptop, but can be done via a phone or tablet. You will need to access your google calendar via Google’s desktop website at https://calendar.google.com and, if you are not already signed in to your Google account you will need to do so. If you are using a mobile device, you will receive a message to use/get the app, or to visit the mobile site. Select the mobile site then, at the bottom of the page, click on the link to the desktop site. You cannot add a calendar from the mobile site or app. Don’t know why – ask Google!
Once on the desktop site, on the left hand side you will see “My Calendars” and “Other Calendars”. Click the down arrow next to “Other Calendars” and select “Add by URL”. Type (or copy/paste) the address shown in red above into the URL text box, then click “Add Calendar” (do not check the box to make it publicly accessible).
The Ark’s diary will now show alongside your own on the website. All that is left, is to change the settings in the android app to display the calendar. On the phone/tablet, open the Google Calendar app then select “Settings” from the menu (3 bars, top left). Under the name of your Google account, you will see “Show More”. Click this, and The Ark Community Church should appear. Click on The Ark Community Church, then turn on “sync” and click the colour button to select your own preferred colour. Click the back arrow (top left) twice and you should see The Ark’s diary alongside your own.
If you want to show/hide The Ark diary, then go to Settings, scroll down, and check or uncheck the box against The Ark Community Church.
If you decide that you want to remove the diary altogether, this can only be done from the desktop site (accessed as above). On the desktop site, click the down-arrow beside either “My Calendars” or “Other Calendars”, click “Settings”, then click “Unsubscribe” against The Ark Community Church.
PC: Microsoft Outlook
Go to the Calendar tab and on the left hand side you should see “My Calendars” and “Other Calendars” (if you cannot see them, then your folder pane is either minimised or off, so go to “View>Folder Pane” and then click “Normal”). In the Folder Pane, right click “Other Calendars” and select “Add Calendar>from Internet” and then type (or copy/paste) the address shown in red above into the text box, click “OK”, and then click “Yes”. All done.
The calendars will appear as two tabs, side by side. You can overlay/separate them by clicking the left/right arrow on the right hand calendar. You can change the colour by right clicking the tab (either calendar) and selecting “Colour”. If you want to show/hide The Ark diary, then simply check or uncheck the box in the left hand Folder Pane.
If you decide that you want to remove the diary altogether, then right-click over the name of the diary in the left hand Folder Pane and select “delete calendar”.
