Introduction

The Ark Community Church has a long standing relationship with the Deliverance Church in Kenya which is led by Bishop Mark Kariuki.

Pastor Bruce Oliver and Bishop Mark have been personal friends for many years and they regularly travel to each other’s countries, preaching and ministering in churches, conferences and large scale public meetings. They both pray for salvation, healing and deliverance at these events.

Many church members from The Ark have been on mission trips to Kenya, participating in youth meetings, children’s work and projects in the community. Whilst in Kenya, they have  visited some of the 600 Deliverance Churches in the country.

These include:

Eldoret Bishop George Gichana
Nyeri Pastor Stephen Mungai
Kiti Pastor Ayub Khayo
Nakuru West

Pastor Jennifer Kahare
Pastor Molo

Kapsabet Pastor Isaac Mutai
Mombasa Pastor Angelo Karanja

Elburgon Pastor Samuel Karoki
Lanet Pastor Francis Kariuki

In November 2004, pastors Moses and Mary Mwangi of Deliverance Church, Nakuru were tragically killed in a road accident. These key Christian leaders had initiated a programme to feed the poor and look after those living in desperate circumstances in Elburgon. In loving memory of Moses and Mary, The Ark Community Church committed finance and practical help to this and other needy communities.

Shortly after the funeral, Bishop Mark Kariuki and pastor Bruce Oliver conducted the ground breaking ceremony on the site of the first orphanage to be built in Elburgon which will house and care for 39 girls. In conjunction with another UK charity, Eagles Wings, The Ark has supported the completion of the girl’s home and is involved in planning another orphanage for 30 boys in Nakuru under Bishop Mark’s direction.
